Hanuman Chalisa was written by Tulsidas Ji in 16th century CE. Tulsidas was one of the greatest devotee of Lord Ram. During his lifespan he got a chance to meet with Lord Ram.
Tulsidas had wrote some lines which clearly explains the distance between sun and earth.
" जुग सहस्त्र जोजन पर भानु. लील्यो ताहि मधुर फल जानू "
The meaning of these words are as follows:
जुग -Yug or Jugg (Satya, Tretaa, Dwapar, Kali) Total 12,000 years divine years
सहस्त्र – It means thousand number
जोजन – It means 8 miles
पर- It means “ To Get”
भानु - It means “Sun”
Mathematically,
Jugg(Yug) x Sahastra x Yojan
=12,000 Years x 1000 x 8 Miles
=12,000 Years x 1000 x 8 x 1.6 Kilometer
= 15,36,00,000 years
The modern science explains the distance
between Sun and Earth which lies between
1.45 x 108 to 1.5 x108 KM.
According to NASA it is 150 million kilometer.
